Kazimierz Kujda - President of the Management Board
Kazimierz Kujda is a Doctor of Science, electrical engineer, economist, expert in management. Since October 2015 participates in the National Development Council, consulting-advisory body of the President of Poland. He experience includes many years in management, specifically in the field of ecology. Mr. Kujda has twice served as a member of the Management Board of the National Fund for Environmental Protection and Water Management including 4 years as the President of the board.
He has completed postgraduate studies in electrical engineering at the Warsaw Technical University and in production economy at the Main School of Planning and Statistics (presently the Warsaw School of Economics). In 1986 he defended his doctoral dissertation in electrical engineering at the Warsaw Technical University and in 1996 he obtained an MBA with distinction at the Centre of Managers Education from the Warsaw University Faculty of Management.
His close ties with the National Fund for Environmental Protection and Water Management started in 1998. He first served as Vice-president of the Management Board (1998-2000), next as President of the Management Board (2000-2002) and expert (2002-2004). Mr. Kujda served again as President of NFEPWM Management Board in the years 2006-2008, and earlier as Vice-president (2005-2006). Additional experience in the field of ecology and related financial, budgetary and investment matters he acquired in the years 1998-2001 and 2006 as a member of the Supervisory Board of Bank Ochrony Środowiska (Bank for Environmental Protection).
Mr. Kujda is the manager specializing in strategic management and long-term planning (financial and marketing), with extensive experience in ecological projects implementation and use of European Union funds. His previous managerial activities in the field of environmental protection have mainly concerned tender procedures, negotiating and completing contracts, legal and financial supervision over investments.
In the years 2008-2015 Mr. Kujda served as the President of the Management Board of the partnership Srebrna, which he also managed in the years 1995-1998. As the management expert he also held position of the Chancellor of Bogdan Jański Academy in Warsaw (2004-2005) and the Chancellor of Bogdan Jański Management and Entrepreneurship Academy in Łomża (2004-2007). He has also participated in the Management Board of the Solidarity Press Foundation and the Management Board of the partnership Słowo Niezależne.
At the beginning of his professional career Mr. Kujda has worked as the department manager and chief specialist in Polskie Sieci Elektroenergetyczne (Polish Electrical Grid company) and in Wspólnota Energetyki i Węgla Brunatnego (Community of Energy Production and Lignite) he has been chief specialist responsible for strategic planning.
Present position of the President of the Management Board of the National Fund for Environmental Protection and Water Management Mr. Kujda holds (for the third time) since December 18, 2015.
Artur Szymon Michalski - Vice-president of the Management Board
Artur Michalski MSc has graduated from the Electrical Faculty of Częstochowa Technical University (1999). He has completed numerous postgraduate studies, inter alia, Inter-university Postgraduate Study of Environmental Resources Assessment and Appraisal at Warsaw University of Life Sciences and Warsaw School of Economics, Postgraduate Study of Environmental Compensations Nature 2000 (Warsaw University of Life Sciences), as well as Study of International Relations and Diplomacy and Postgraduate Study of Environmental Protection Policy – Ecology and management.
In the years 2006-2008 he was the Vice-President of the National Fund for Environmental Protection and Water Management. During this time he was also the Vice-President of Voivodship Fund for Environmental Protection and Water Management in Warsaw, he resumed his function in December of 2015. Earlier he was the Vice-President of NFEPWM Supervisory Board.
In the past Mr. Michalski acted as an advisor to the minister of environment and head of the minister’s political office.
In recent years he held the position of the Vice-President of the Water Works in Radom, then the President of the Water Works and Sewerage Company in Sochaczew. He has also worked in the Environmental Protection Office of Warsaw City Hall as head of the Ecological Funds Department and in the Children’s Memorial Health Institute as organizational-technical specialist, and later as the manager of Technical Supervision Department.
In the years 2000-2001 he worked in the Chancellery of the Prime Minister as an advisor to the Secretary of State, Government Plenipotentiary for the United Nations Climate Convention.
Mr. Michalski does voluntary work for environmental organizations, among others Association for Poland’s Sustainability.
Since 2002 he has been participating in scientific research conducted by the Environmental Resources Assessment and Appraisal Work Group (Warsaw University of Life Sciences). His particular interest concentrates on the subject of coal accumulation in the forest and soil environment (his PhD thesis) and coal absorption and utilization of environmental resources for economic development of non-urban areas, as well as on usage of United Nations Climate Convention and climate policy instruments for the development of Poland.
Mr. Michalski is an author or co-author of multiple scientific publications.
He has completed numerous training courses, among others, project management as well as series of courses for the employees of the institutions involved in EU funds implementation and for the funds’ beneficiaries.
He had been an organizer or co-organizer of many national and international conferences and seminars.
At present, as the Vice-President of the National Fund for Environmental Protection and Water Management Board, he supervises work of the Foreign Funds Department and the Department of Energy and Innovations.

Roman Wójcik – Vice-president of the Management Board
Roman Wójcik, PhD, a holder of a postdoctoral degree, he completed his Master’s studies in the field of forestry at the Faculty of Forestry of Warsaw University of Life Sciences. In 1998, at the same faculty, he defended his doctoral thesis, and in 2013 his postdoctoral thesis in the scope of forestry.
A many years’ employee of the Department of Forest Settling, Geomatics, and Forestry Economics at the Faculty of Forestry of Warsaw University of Life Sciences. He conducts classes with students and carries out research in the scope of forest settling, monitoring of forest condition, active protection of nature and other tasks. During his work at the University, he carried out and managed many projects in the scope of forestry, environmental and nature protection. In particular, coordination of training for farmers under the project Tending and protection of forest crops for the action Professional training for persons employed in agriculture and forestry covered by the Rural Development Programme for
2007-2013 and implemented jointly with the National Council of Agricultural Chambers in 2013-2014, deserves a special attention.
He conducted economic activity running many diverse projects such as e.g. forest settling plans, creating and updating numerical maps, developing nature protection programmes for forestry divisions, plans of reserves protection, management plans of municipal forests, studies concerning natural habitats Nature 2000, hydrological studies and those concerning municipal greenery, and many other projects.
He gained administrative experience in 1998 in The Directorate General of The State Forests in the Department of Settlement Supervision and in 2010-2011 in The General Directorate for Environmental Protection in the Division of the Areas of Protected Habitats and Landscape in the Department of Nature Protection. In The General Directorate for Environmental Protection, he managed three secretariats of international conventions: Berne, Ramsar and Landscape, as well as the secretariat of the understanding on the protection of aquatic warbler.
Currently, as the Vice President of the Management Board of the National Fund for Environmental Protection and Water Management, he supervises the work of the Department of Earth Protection, Department of Waters Management, Department of Nature Protection and Ecological Education as well as the Team for Expert Opinions and Science & Research Works.
